You see them everywhere and when you can't see them you may hear them, day as well as night. Thousands are practically continously surrounding us. You can spot their nests and, if you like to climb around in trees, even be the spectator of the very first seconds of a birds life jumping out of its shell.
But where do the fallen birds go?
And I'm not talking about those who accidentally have been hit by a car or, like we all may have experienced, mistaken a window with a hole in the wall. No, I mean all those who are suffering from a disease or have got tired of days ending up passing away, leaving this world in the same way as us humans. There must be a dozen within walking distance. Throughout my life I must have passed hundreds, but I do not want to admit that I have overseen them all.
So where do the fallen birds go?
